Studio Anne Carlton Chess Set - Roman

One of the first chess sets produced in the Studio Anne Carlton series.

This classic design depicts figures from this era. The Roman Empire was the most powerful economic, cultural, political and military forces in the world in it's time. It was the largest empire of classical antiquity, and one of the largest empires in world history.

At its height under Trajan, it covered 5 million square kilometres and held sway over some 70 million people, at that time 21% of the world's entire population.
